For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.
At a computer expo, Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated "If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon.
In response to Bill’s comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:
If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:
1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash twice a day. 2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car. 3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull over to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this. 4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine. 5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads. 6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "General Protection Fault" warning light. 7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying. 8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key, and grabbed hold of the radio antenna. 9. Every time GM introduced a new car, car buyers would have to learn to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car. 10. You’d have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.

Tires!
I finally have new tires and rims for the Jeep! It only took me about a year to pick some, lol! Ended up with 32" x 11.5" tires. I'll have to wait to get pictures of it. Left my camera in T's truck so I'll have to wait til he gets back to get my camera. She looks like a Jeep should. I'm soo happy! I throw mud all over now, I'm a dirty girl!

Winter Road

Went for a ride looking for a hiking trail that didn't require skis or snowshoes. Didn't find one. But, the drive was nice. At the top of the road is a campground that is closed for the winter. There was quite a bit of snow there.. and the road isn't plowed up here. just the few brave souls and the sun are clearing the snow out. Thankfully, we didn't get stuck and four wheel drive was working nicely. All and all, a good end to the 2008 year.

sectoral heterochromia
I was concerned about a new movie trailer I saw on TV recently.. "The Unborn". It's about a girl who has two different colored eyes. She finds out that she was a twin and the other baby died in the womb. Now the unborn brother she never new is out to haunt her and get his revenge. Well, as those who know me, also know I have multi colored eyes too! So I did some research. No I am not a twin. But, It is hereditary. So from this I am safe from haunting. When I was in grade school I used to tell the kids that picked on my eye color that I was a witch and not to make me mad. Or I would go out into the woods on the next full moon and cast a spell over them. lol! It was fun while it lasted.
So, by definition - what I have is called Heterochromia, A condition in which the two irises of an individual have different colors, or in which one iris has two colors. The Partial Heterochromia that I have is rarer. Most people like husky dogs, cats and horses have one eye that is say blue and the other is brown. I get to be a mixed up mess, lol!

stores and songs
ok, when it is too early for Christmas songs in stores. I just heard "Carol of the Bells"! Granted I love that song, but we just had Halloween and I haven't even bought a Thanksgiving turkey yet. Just my opinion... but it should wait til after Thanksgiving. Or it will end up being like this years election. Start to early and everyone is sick and tired of the whole deal by the big day.

NONPARTISAN JOKE
THIS IS A NONPARTISAN JOKE THAT CAN BE ENJOYED BY BOTH PARTIES! NOT ONLY THAT-- it is POLITICALLY CORRECT!!
While walking down the street one day a US senator is tragically hit by a truck and dies. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you.''No problem, just let me in,' says the man.'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.''Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the senator.'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises...The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him.'Now it's time to visit heaven.'So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.'The senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.'So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. 'I don't understand,' stammers the senator. 'Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?'The devil looks at him, smiles and says, 'Yesterday we were campaigning.. . today you voted.'
