Blizzard of '06
The final report is 2 to 3 feet for my area...though I have drifts about 6 feet. This picture is of the morning after...I am wondering where to begin shoveling. It seams hopeless. My car is the white hump in the back center area near my porch. it's red but you cant see any of it but a passenger side mirror..that's black. the wind kept that side kinda clear so I could find it. The jeep was a bit easier to find. All roads are back open and the airport is trying to fly people around. glad I wasn't there! It's still really cold, but the sun is coming out. most side roads are passable...parking lots... yeah right. four wheel drive is best there. I almost lost my car in the grocery store this morning! The stores were on short supply of food stuff and gas... every one is double stocking up now! Well, keeps us all on our toes! probably the only weather my area will have to talk about for a while again. lol! ... And yes the post office did shut down for two whole days! imagine the back log...well my cards will be late this year...sorry G, i haven't sent your package...only your card. not trusting the mail just yet for the big stuff ...but I'll send it soon. Better late than never right! Well, I've had enough snow for a while... 80's any time now!

Trees with fireflies
Reflections in the Mist
Reflections in the Mist... no wait! That's Snow!!!
Blizzard of '06
snazzy title... yeah, the media thought long and hard about that title. Any way we finally have some snow that I don't think is going to melt away in just a couple of days...My car is almost completly buried. I can still see the back end and part of a rear panel. it sits pretty low to the ground so I'm not to surprized. This drift is serious about hiding my car though. My Jeep is still okay. I can still see that. The interstate is closed from the north end of the state to the south...and the ones going east too. we are closed in! I went to work today for an hour...Guess I should've stayed home.... but hey, they can't call me a wimp and say I didn't try! Tonight P and I played in our new snow... this is the pretty kind...if it weren't for the high winds whipping it all around and in your face. It's all light and fluffy! We will most likley still have it for Christmas...it'll be white! Definatly not a t-shirt day. dusted off the xcountry skis tonight...went to get yesterdays mail. P was trying to build an igloo, but the snow is not the packing kind..the skiing is good though! fresh powder! even if all i do is xcountry...What a day...the interstates in our state are closed, businesses closed early, Even the post offices called it quits today! It was that bad! It's dark now...I have tomorrow off so I'm kinda excited to get up and go out and play some more tomorrow. Then I'll come in ...My nose will defrost...I'll blow it! Gezzz! Then we'll make cookies! MMmmmmm yum!

Sad work day...
My Costa Rician friend at work was fired over the weekend. The company owner said she wasn't paying attention during a meeting. Hmm...the rest of us thought a warning maybe, but to fire without a warning??!! When there are others who are breaking worse rules....it will be quiet at work now. Of course there is still the whining from Miss 20-something and her boyfriend problems...
